Past Events SACRED Casino Event, September 16, 17, 2010 Annual General Meeting, June 14, 2010 Night of Artists Concert in Support of our Charity, November 6th, 2009 The Society is the beneficiary of the Friday Night concert at the Night of Artists Festival, which takes place at the Westbury Theatre, in the Arts Barns, on Friday, November 6th, 2009, starting at 7 pm. All proceeds of the Silent Auction will go the Society. Night of Artists is a 3 day festival that has been part of the Edmonton arts scence for 12 years. This exciting weekend will be a showcase of the arts and includes visual art, live music and dance. The Society's Annual General Meeting June 11, 2008 - Watch for details. 8th Annual Roy Financial Mayor's Walk for Charity June 21, 2008 - Mark your calendars and stay posted for more details on this upcoming event - prepare to walk, run, raise pledges or volunteer.The Society receives 100% of monies raised on its behalf. Every year more money is raised, with last year bringing in $3,010! So come on out and help us raise even more this year! Community Arts Celebration March 15 & 16, 2008 -The Society participated in the Community Arts Celebration as one of 100 artists from the Community Arts Grant Program: Cultural Collaborations – Voices Less Heard.The Society presented the work-in-progress, entitled, "Voices from Darkness Moving into Light" that was partially funded by this grant program. This was a free event at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton from 10am-5pm. Click here for more information. National Eating Disorders Awareness Week February 5-11, 2008 On HelpTV The Society was featured on HelpTV on February 7, 2008 for a special feature on eating disorders during National Eating Disorders Awarness Week. Visit our "In the News" page to link to the show. At Remedy Cafe The Society hosted the official opening of the month-long art event on November 3, 2007 at Remedy Cafe! For the month of November 2007, art created by participants of SACRED's Eating Disorder Recovery Day Program, Art Therapy program was on display at Remedy Cafe (8631 109 Street, Edmonton). Other art-therapy created pieces from other programs were also available for viewing. Thank you to all those who dropped by and to Remedy Cafe for the opportunity! The Giving Day - by The Bay November 3, 2007 - The Giving Day was a one-day shopping event designed to help organizations in your community raise much-needed funds. By purchasing a $5 ticket from SACRED, individuals were then eligible for exclusive discounts, entertainment, special events, contests and so much more! And now for the best part: SACRED received 100% of the monies raised from the tickets sold. Thank you to everyone that purchased a ticket from SACRED - have fun shopping! Please visit the Supporters Page to check them out! 7th Annual Roy Financial Mayor's Walk for Charity Registration & Charity Pledge Form Thank you to all of you who came out and showed your support for SACRED on June 23, 2007 by participating in the Roy Financial Mayor's Walk for Charity in St. Albert. Some provided financial sponsorship, some walked, some ran and some volunteered at the event all in the name of charity. The event was a huge succes with 28 charities and close to 250 registered walkers/runners helped to raise over $49,000.00 for the charity of their choice. Our goal was to exceed the $2,100 raised last year and we did just that, raising $3,010! Thank you for your support! 100% of the Proceeds Raised for SACRED Go to SACRED Please visit the Roy Financial Mayor's Walk website at www.royfinancialmayorswalk.com Spin Around the Clock Following the spectacularly successful years in 2003 and 2004, the third annual Spin Around the Clock was held April 1 & 2, 2005 in the West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace. Why "To create a community of supporters who will help the Livia Stoyke Foundation raise over $50,000 in pledges. Funds raised will pay for the Foundation's programs, which support the arts, women and children in need, the environment and the poor." What is the Spin Around the Clock? A 24-hour fundraiser
where teams of relay-riders cycled on stationary bikes, with live
music, art, dance, movies and spin instruction. A mural was painted
in honour of Alberta and Saskatchewan's Centennial Celebration.
This mural was shown to the Queen during her visit to Canada. Results The event was a great success! This year SACRED was one of four charities that benefited from the sweat of 600 riders as they spun to raise money to support our programs. Organized by the Livia Stoyke Foundation, SACRED also participated in many television interviews which increased community awareness of eating disorders and SACRED's services.
