June 6, 2007 - Global TV Edmonton's Health Matters Reporter, Su-Ling Goh visited SACRED's program location and interviewed one of SACRED's Eating Disorder Day Program participants regarding her experience and how the Art Therapy project, funded by the Livia Stoyke Foundation, supported her recovery. The piece aired on the 6 pm news. May 7, 2007 - Celebrate Mental Health Awards - SACRED was nominated for the Eleanor Grant Award at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Edmonton Region's Mental Health Week Celebrations. This award pays tribute to those who demonstrate outstanding visionary leadership/innovation in addressing service gaps in the mental health field. The Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine now recognizes eating disorders as one type of addiction. This gives tremendous support to our addiction-based approach to the treatment of eating disorders! Hats off to SACRED volunteers who participated in the City of St. Albert's Mayor's Walk for Charity raising over $2,100 ! SACRED's Eating Disorder Recovery Day Program is a highly sought practicum placement. Students from Medicine Hat's Addictions Counselling Program and Grant MacEwan's Mental Health Program have participated.
