The Society for Assisted Cooperative Recovery from Eating Disorders is a non-profit charity that provides an essential Intensive Recovery Day program that saves lives. In a recent research evaluation of our program by two University of Alberta researchers, it was noted that over 7 out of 10 past participants felt they would have died without treatment in our program.

Furthermore, since community-based treatment options are not funded directly by the government, our participant's must pay fees. Yet, it is the Board's wish that participants ultimately do not have to pay for such an essential life saving service, so the organization undertakes an extensive annual fund raising campaign to seek donations from individuals and corporations and grant funds from community and government agencies to cover the expense of operations. Our goal this year is to subsidize participant fees, so that participant fees account for only 23% of our annual operating budget. With your help, we hope to meet these targets for 2009/2010. Yet, we are commited to do more. Our long-term wish is that participants and their families are no longer burdened with the cost of treatment in order to find a lifetime fillled with hope and healing. Please donate what you can in support of our mission.

Reasons to Give

The Society for Assisted Cooperative Recovery from Eating Disorders depends on the support of generous individuals, corporations, agencies and the community in general to fund our Programs and support our work. We thank all of you for your generous support!

Did you know that beginning in 2007 that any donations over $200 will be eligible for a income tax credit of 21 percent, to encourage Albertans to give even more. Including the federal charitable donations credit, Albertans will receive 50 cents in tax credits for every dollar donated over the $200 threshold.
